  1. Find records in Connexion and save locally.
  2. Edit records as necessary.
    • This is also where you might apply any Constant Data.
    • If you are going to create item records on import, add the necessary 949 fields
  3. Export from Connexion to the save file.
  4. In Workflows, use the Marc Import Wizard.
    • Part of the Utility wizards.
    • File path to Connexion Export file
    • Unique name for import file
  5. Bring records into Catalog using bibload
  6. Select your imported file from the drop down
    • Pay special attention to settings (See the Cataloging Tools Pt. 2 training on the Cataloging Cross-Training page for a detailed look at the setting options)
    • Do you expect/want to overlay existing records?

    • Will you be using specific matching points?
    • Settings for making certain copies will be created or not created as desired.

Here's an example of settings for loading new records into the catalog with holding information in the 949.
Your desired results may be different, so it's important to understand the settings and make sure they are correct for your use.

Also note the "Save As Template" option. If you are going to run the same type of record load more than once, you can put in your settings once, save as a template, and then use the template as the starting point for future reports.
