Private Policy & Procedure Best Practices
Policy & Procedure Pages with the following types of information should be private:
- Financial data, including: pricing, account numbers, etc.
- Login or access information
- IP addresses
Pages with the following types of information can be public:
- Fund codes
- YBP subaccount references (numbers or names)
- Screen shots
- Proxy URL information
Creating a New Policy and Procedure Page
From A&D Acquisitions Policy & Procedure or A&D Cataloging Policy & Procedure:
- Select Add a New Page
- Edit and save the new page
- Create a link on the Acquisitions Policy & Procedure or Cataloging Policy & Procedure page as appropriate
- Create additional links on Unit pages as needed
- If the page contains information that should be private , ask your supervisor or unit librarian to make the page private
Always create new Policy & Procedure page (aka "Add a Page") from the Acquisitions Policy & Procedure or Cataloging Policy & Procedure index pages. These two pages live in the Acquisitions & Discovery (Public) Confluence space, making the pages publicly viewable on the web. Because child pages inherit the page view access properties of the parent any page added to the Acquisition or Cataloging Policy & Procedure pages will automatically be available on the web without a login.
